I'm Wilbert Pineda, I don't have a job as of now that's why I don't have any money on my pocket. I'm a catholic but I don't go to church and don't believe in the faith. All I have is my very old Pentium III and my skills. I'm not a good man, though, I know I can do something.

Just this December 25, 2004, Christmas day, I went to a close friend's place. We were chatting and talking about old days, suddenly he opened up his friend-co-employee's story. He showed me a copy of a letter prepared by his friend for me to read. I do not personally know the baby, not even the parents. They are my friend's friend. The letter is simple and straightforward enough. Please take time to read the letter below.

PLEASE HELP ME LIVE

I was born on May 29, 2004 with Biliary Atresia,

a rare liver disease wherein my liver does not have bile ducts.

As a result, the bile builds up within and is destroying my liver.

I will soon die unless I get a liver transplant.

A liver transplant in Taiwan costs Php4 million. My parents,

Paolo Garcia and Irma Maglambayan can't afford this amount.

That's why I appeal to your charity and compassion.

Please help me raise money for my liver transplant.

The parents of this baby as of now is doing everything they can to raise funds. They've asked a second collection once during a mass, asked the management of a Mall in Pampanga (SM), to allow them to spread out solicitation letters inside the Mall but was allowed only in the carpark on dates December 28 & 29, 2004, asked friends for donations, went to the GMA Kapuso foundation but was told that the foundation can only give them support for the check-up, asked donations from the Olongapo Chamber of Commerce, have asked fast foods to allow them to place cans for loose change, and asked friends for donations.

If you have any spare money, any amount will surely help save this baby. Also, any suggestion as to how to raise funds will surely help, just text or call me at my number below. As of now, I don't know how much have been raised but I know that the amount they have right now is still just a fraction of what the baby needs. The Php4 million is only for the operation and the parents still have to raise money for the transportation.
